For those who are working in the Oakland job market, there is good news. The city is seeing some improvement in the jobs market. Overall, consumers are finding jobs, though some of those positions are not what they need. Many are paying significantly lower than what these positions paid just a few years ago. Add to this the new demand for more positions, there is no doubt that thousands are still looking for work. What does the national report do for the city, then?

Oakland Job Market - Is There Anything to Look Forward To?

For those who are looking for jobs in Oakland, the job market seems to have something to offer. The region is struggling to fill the need for positions in many areas. There is no doubt, though, there is a new for economic improvement that leads to job creation. Not all signs going forward look positive, but the Mayor seems to think there are good things happening.

According to Mayor Jean Quan, the city is rebounding from the current economic and political firestorm it has been under. She made her first State of the City address this week. In it, she highlights the numerous good things happening in the city including the emergence of arts, culinary and cultural avenues. Some positive data out there suggests that the city is seeing improvement in its economic conditions, too.
